Are you multitasking your business or career to failure?

This type of react first type of work leads to sloppiness and much of the time, not getting done what you intended to get done

When you own and operate a small business, the small business owner must wear a variety of hats. What I mean by this is, we have to be the accountant, customer service, the sales manager, the marketing manager, the janitor. You get the idea. However, if you want to run a small business successfully. I would HIGHLY recommend organizing your efforts and while performing the task that you have given yourself. Putting 100 percent energy and focus into completing that task while performing it. Many of us would like to think that we are masters of multi-tasking. However, the fact is that you are taking away your focus and energy from what you are trying to complete and directing your attention to that new task. You are not in fact completing both tasks at the same time. This type of react first type of work leads to sloppiness and much of the time, not getting done what you intended to get done. Below I put an example of how a modern marketing organization is structurally designed in order to have maximum effectiveness. If you are a small one or two-person operation; your going to have to split yourself up and complete these tasks by yourselves.

In a marketing organization, the marketing organization system provides a framework within which marketing analysis, planning, implementation, and control activities are effectively coordinated and carried out. In small firms, such as a job shop or hardware store, one person performs these activities. Then, as the firm grow larger, the work is divided into separate functional activities, these include sales and market research, which are given to people whom specializes in these activities. If the area to which the person is being assigned involves responsibility for generating profits by directing, coordinating, motivating, and controlling the activities of other people, it is called a line position. If the area of responsibility is specialized and advisory in nature, with little direct responsibility for profits, it is called a staff position.
